Dr. Wong Keng Yean is a senior consultant paediatric cardiologist who practices full-time at the Paediatric Cardiology Clinic at Mount Alvernia Hospital. He trained in Paediatric Cardiology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, for two years before working at the National Heart Centre for another two years. Dr. Wong then went on to establish and head the Cardiology Department at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) for 15 years. He has also been involved in graduate and postgraduate training, research, and the education of paediatric cardiologists.
Dr. Wong has held several academic and clinical positions, including Associate Clinical Professor and Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University Hospital and Duke Graduate Medical School. He has contributed to paediatric cardiology missions and lectures in countries such as China, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Cambodia. His research has been published both locally and internationally. Dr. Wong was awarded the 8th College of Paediatrics and Child Health Lectureship in 2013, recognizing his distinguished work in the field. He served in various roles, including as a visiting consultant at Singapore General Hospital and the National Heart Centre from 1987 to 2015.
