Dr. Michelle Tan is a Senior Consultant specializing in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Hepatology, and Liver Transplantation at Khoo Teck Puat - National University Children's Medical Institute, NUH. She also serves as a Senior Consultant in the Paediatric Liver Transplantation Programme and is an Assistant Professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. Her clinical focus includes childhood nutrition, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, gut motility issues, and feeding challenges. Dr. Tan co-manages the multidisciplinary Feeding Clinic at NUH and has international training experience from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and John Radcliffe Hospital, where she specialized in complex gut motility disorders and aerodigestive issues.
A recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence, Dr. Tan is an active educator of medical students, residents, and nursing staff. She is also a researcher with publications on autoimmune hepatitis, cyclical vomiting syndrome, and eosinophilic oesophagitis in children. Additionally, she contributes to pediatric ethics discussions as a member of the KTP-NUCMI Paediatric Ethics and Advocacy Center (PEACe), reflecting her holistic commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare.
