Dr Tan Lay Ong is a Consultant in General Paediatrics at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He earned his medical qualifications from NUI Galway, Ireland, and further specialized in paediatrics through the Master of Medicine in Paediatrics (MMed) in Singapore, as well as obtaining a Diploma in Child Health (UK) and MRCPCH (UK). His expertise lies in general paediatrics, children's emergency, and advocating for children's health.

Dr Tan is committed to improving children's wellbeing through education and research, particularly in the field of paediatrics. He has held various roles, including Associate Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. His research interests are reflected in several publications, covering topics such as dengue in children, osteoporosis, and the effects of prematurity on neurodevelopment. His contributions to the field are also backed by awards, including the Siemens prize in radiology from NUI Galway.
