Clin A/Prof Tan Ee Shien is the Head of the SingHealth-Duke Genomic Medicine Centre and Senior Consultant for Genetics Service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She is also the Genomics Co-Lead at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Maternal and Child Health Research Institute and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the national precision medicine program, PRECISE. With a dedication to advancing genetic care, she has led initiatives ensuring patients with genetic diseases receive top-quality care and access to groundbreaking treatments.
From 2011 to 2023, she served as Director of the National Newborn Screening Program, significantly expanding the scope of disorders screened in newborns across Singapore. Passionate about mentoring, she has held roles such as Paediatric Clerkship Director at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Clinical Associate Professor at both Duke-NUS and NUS-YLL School of Medicine. Her expertise spans a range of conditions, including 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, Citrin Deficiency, and Mitochondrial Diseases.
