Clin Assoc Prof Tan Ah Moy is an Emeritus Consultant in Paediatric Medicine at KK Women's and Children's Hospital, specializing in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology. With extensive experience, she is involved in the treatment of childhood cancer, haemophilia, and thalassaemia. Prof Tan received her MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1973 and further pursued her Master of Medicine in Paediatrics in 1977. She underwent specialized training in Paediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne in 1986, under a Ministry of Health scholarship. She has been instrumental in advancing childhood cancer care in Singapore, leading the Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Service at KKH from 1997 to 2012 and directing the Singapore Childhood Cancer Registry since 2005.
Her research interests include blood and marrow transplantation in children, cancer in adolescents, and cord blood transplant. Prof Tan has contributed significantly to clinical trials and research in paediatric oncology, with several publications in leading medical journals. She has received numerous awards, including the Outstanding Clinician Award and National Day Long Service Award. As Programme Director of the Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant programme at KKH, she continues to influence the landscape of paediatric cancer care and research in Singapore.
