Emeritus Prof Quak Seng Hock is an Emeritus Consultant in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Hepatology, and Liver Transplantation at Khoo Teck Puat - National University Children's Medical Institute and the Paediatric Liver Transplantation Programme at NUH. He also holds the title of Emeritus Professor of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. A pioneer in paediatric hepatology and gastroenterology in Singapore, his clinical expertise includes managing conditions such as childhood cholestasis, diarrheal diseases, and abdominal pain.
Prof Quak graduated from the University of Singapore in 1976, earning additional qualifications including the Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) and Doctor of Medicine. He received advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Birmingham’s Hospital for Sick Children. A founding President of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore, he has contributed significantly to his field. Prof Quak’s accolades include the Emeritus Consultant Award (2013) and the National Outstanding Clinician Mentor Award (2014). He remains actively involved in education, inspiring future generations of paediatricians.
