Clin Prof Phua Kong Boo is an Emeritus Consultant in the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. With a distinguished career in paediatric gastroenterology, his clinical expertise focuses on managing conditions such as abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux (GER), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in children. Prof Phua has dedicated decades to advancing paediatric healthcare, contributing both in clinical practice and academia.

Prof Phua’s research interests include the rotavirus vaccine, diarrheal diseases in children, and the epidemiology of rotavirus-related illnesses. He has also explored topics like intussusception and cholestatic jaundice in infancy, significantly enhancing understanding and treatment approaches in these areas. A Fellow of multiple prestigious medical organizations, including the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS), Prof Phua continues to leave an enduring legacy in paediatric gastroenterology.
