Associate Professor Ong Hian Tat is the Head and Senior Consultant of the Division of Paediatric Neurology at the National University Hospital (NUH), specializing in paediatric epilepsy and neurophysiology. He also serves as a Senior Consultant at the NUWoC Children's Clinic at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and is an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He has extensive expertise in managing conditions such as epilepsy, brain and spine disorders, and neurorehabilitation, particularly in children with cerebral palsy.
A/Prof Ong’s clinical work includes the development of a paediatric epilepsy monitoring service and a combined programme for cerebral palsy management. He is also involved in research focused on robotic-assisted therapy for paediatric neurorehabilitation and the use of ketogenic diets for refractory epilepsy. His ongoing research explores innovative rehabilitation techniques and treatments for paediatric epilepsy. A/Prof Ong has published extensively in scientific journals and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Singapore Epilepsy Society and the Asian Oceanian Child Neurology Society.
