A/Prof Loh Woei Shyang is the Head and Senior Consultant at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) at the National University Hospital (NUH). He is also an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and serves as the Group Chief of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the National University Health System. A/Prof Loh specializes in paediatric otolaryngology, with a focus on otological disorders, complex hearing restoration surgeries, and airway diseases in children. He has extensive experience in managing cleft lip and palate patients and is a pioneer in Sialendoscopy for benign salivary gland diseases.
A/Prof Loh is actively involved in medical education and research. He is a key figure in the development of the residency programme in ENT and chairs the Master of Medicine (Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery) Examination Committee. His research mainly covers paediatric otological issues, and he has received numerous grants. A/Prof Loh has been recognized for his contributions with several awards, including the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2024. His recent publications focus on topics such as COVID-19 impact on otolaryngology services and advancements in nasopharyngeal swab techniques.
