Dr. Joel Lim Kian Boon is a Consultant in the Children's Intensive Care Unit at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He completed his undergraduate training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and underwent pediatric training with the SingHealth Paediatric Residency Program. Dr. Lim has a special interest in pediatric cardiac intensive care and is actively involved in education, serving as an instructor for the Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course and as a clinical tutor at his alma mater.

Dr. Lim has received numerous awards for his outstanding performance, including the Outstanding Resident Award and the Gold Award in the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards. He has also contributed to various research publications in pediatric and congenital heart surgery, particularly related to cardiac surgery outcomes and pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome.
