Professor Yap Hui Kim is the Head and Emeritus Consultant of the Division of Paediatric Nephrology, Dialysis, and Renal Transplantation at the National University Children's Medical Institute, National University Hospital. She is also the Medical Director of the Paediatric Kidney Transplantation Programme and holds a professorship in the Department of Paediatrics at the National University of Singapore. With extensive qualifications, including a Doctor of Medicine (Singapore) and fellowship with prestigious medical societies, Prof Yap specializes in paediatric nephrology, focusing on kidney diseases, dialysis, and renal transplantation.

Prof Yap is renowned for her pioneering work in paediatric dialysis and transplantation, and her research has led to significant advances in the understanding and treatment of childhood nephrotic syndrome and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. She has received numerous accolades, including the Healthcare Humanity Award and the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award. Prof Yap is actively involved in national and international scientific boards and has secured research grants totaling over $5 million. She is also the President of the International Paediatric Nephrology Association.
