Dr. Kang Ying Qi is a Senior Consultant at the Division of Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics, Khoo Teck Puat - National University Children's Medical Institute, NUH. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. Dr. Kang specializes in managing developmental delays, learning and behavioural issues, particularly in children with chronic medical conditions. She leads the developmental follow-up program for children post-cardiac surgery and runs a specialized encopresis clinic focusing on toileting issues.
Dr. Kang’s research interests include autism, developmental outcomes, and the effects of social inequities on children’s health. Her international experience spans clinical observations at Boston Children's Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, and Stanford. She has received multiple grants for her research and notable awards, including the Ministry of Social and Family Development Community Cares Award in 2023. Dr. Kang has published extensively on topics related to developmental medicine, including telemedicine adaptations during the COVID-19 pandemic and strategies for managing anxiety in children.
