Hi fellow parents! My son just turned 2.5 years old and I'm already getting bombarded with ads for enrichment classes - everything from Heguru to Shichida, music classes to art sessions. Some of my friends started their kids at 6 months old! I'm feeling the pressure but also wondering if it's really necessary at such a young age. Currently we just do lots of reading, puzzles, and outdoor play at home. Parents who have been through this - did you do enrichment classes? At what age? Was it worth the investment? Did you notice any difference compared to children who didn't attend? Also curious about which centers in Singapore you'd recommend (or warn against). Our budget is around $200/month.

this is such an apt post... I've been looking at classes myself and everything has gotten so expensive!!!
@alwaysrosy can share which music class? My 3yo very into singing nowadays, looking for something fun but not too expensive.
Sorry but 2.5 years old should focus on playing! My son only does playground and library. Their brain not ready for all these enrichment. Better spend time reading stories together.
Actually depends on the enrichment. My son's been doing Kindermusik since 18 months and he loves it! But it's more social play with music, not like serious learning. $45/session, reasonable I think. PM me if want more details!
Started my first kid in every enrichment possible from 8 months. Piano, art, Shichida, you name it. Super expensive and exhausting for everyone. With my second one now, we just do one music class that she actually enjoys. Learn from my mistake! 😅
My daughter only started at 4yo with basic phonics because she showed interest in reading. Now at 6, she's doing well in P1 without all the early enrichment stress. Save your money and time lah. They're only young once! I feel like some parents should let them enjoy their childhood a bit more
