Hi mummies! FTM here with a 18mo girl. Been googling like crazy but getting mixed answers... When did you guys start preschool/kindy for your LOs? Some of my friends already enrolling their 18mo kids but seems so early?? Help pls! 🙏

Thanks for all your inputs! I'm going to start my search rightaway. I think we'll start with half day first, and yes, not too far. If not I'll become the designated family driver 😅 Was super helpful to hear from all of you!!
@heyitsash we did half day till 3yo! Btw rem to factor in location also... morning traffic can be killer if sch too far 😩
started w half day first 2 weeks then switched full day! Most schs quite flexible one, can discuss w them 👍
Currently looking at preschools for my 20mo! The good ones have looooong waitlists sia. My friend waited 8mths for a spot at maplebear preschool. Better research early even if u planning to start later!
@shuyann @bbytofu thanks for sharing! Did u do half day or full day? My girl quite clingy now so worried about separation anxiety 😅
Just want to add - remember to check the preschools' enrollment policies. Some only accept fully toilet-trained kids, others have different min age requirements.
mines 2.5 n we jst started last mth!! he cries a bit at dropoff but tchrs say he ok after 5mins... they adapt q fast at this age!
Unpopular opinion but.... we waited till 4yo 🙈 Did lots of home learning and playgroups instead. She's in k1 now doing great! dont feel pressured by what others doing k
My personal experience - waited till 3yo for my eldest, regretted a bit cos took longer to adjust to routine. Second one went at 2yo, much better transition! They pick up social skills faster when younger.
omg same dilemma last yr!!! my boy started at 20mths cos both me n hubby working... was tough first 2 weeks (crying everyday 😭😭) but now he lovessss sch! every kid different tho
Started all 3 of mine at 2.5yo! The sweet spot imho. They were more independent by then, toilet training mostly settled. No rush la honestly.
