The brand was inspired by Nicole Voon and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Hew. After Nicole experienced a miscarriage, Mrs. Hew, a nanny with over 20 years of experience, prepared nutritious confinement meals to help Nicole recover. This experience sparked the idea of Mama J’s, turning a moment of personal loss into a mission to support mothers in their recovery journey.

In 2024, Mama J's was acquired by Ai Jiak, allowing it to expand with its own retail unit in Singapore. Over the years, Mama J's has provided over 300 mothers with nutritious meals designed to aid digestion, regain energy, and support breastfeeding. With a 28-day menu of creative and nourishing dishes, Mama J’s ensures that confinement meals are not only healthy but also enjoyable.
