Hi everyone! I was a little late with aunt flow and I think I'm pregnant?! After trying for several months and lots of disappointments (I'd test as I was late and it'll turn out negative, then I get my period the same day or next 🙄), I think it's a positive! I'm currently using the hcg test strips. With my previous pregnancy like 6 years ago, I was using Clear Blue which was, well, very clear. With the first strip I had a very faint positive line within the first 5 minutes which is when the test had said to read it. I also read about evaporation lines and stuff. I think after multiple disappointments I'm afraid it's a false positive. Does a very faint positive line indicate a positive??

My guess is you're pregnant :) Esp since you have multiple positive outcomes. I was pregnant in 2023 and I felt like something was off and definitely felt like I was preggers before my period was even due. I tested around then and it was negative. I felt like I wasted a ton of strips and that I was losing my mind or something! Then after a while a few days later I got my positive result and it all made sense lol. Sometimes it takes a while to show up, especially because its normal for cycles to vary by 3-4 days, so it could be that implantation occurred later than expected too. Congrats!!
Hi ladies, so I tested again thrice since, twice on one day (first thing in the morning and at the same time in the late afternoon) and one more on the next day. I have positives on all of them it seems, but the lines are still very light...? Is it supposed to get progressively darker or should I be worried?
I used to use clear blue as well but at $7-8 for a strip test and a $22 quick detection cassette, I can DEFINITELY say I think the hcg test strips are much better and work the same. In fact, some of the hcg test strips are even more sensitive than the clear blue. Some can detect even 10miu, so you're probably good! If it's very faint it could be that you're just very early in testing - your cycle could've been longer this time around or you're testing right when you've missed your period. I agree with @100espresso false positives are rare. False negatives are more common. We await your good news!!!
Usually a false positive on a hcg test strip is very unlikely. I think the odds are close to zero. I used the strips too, and they said as long as it is there, even if it's super faint, it's a positive. I hope you have the news you want!! I suggest to just test again in 2 days cos the hcg should double in that time frame and give you a clearer result... if you can't wait and have extra test strips to spare then just test again tmr haha
